Welcome - Ouidad Styling Cremes

Ouidad Launched New Styling Cremes - Define and Shine Curl Quenching Gel-Creme & Hydrafusion Intense Curl Creme.

Hydrafusion is on the left, and Define and Shine is to the right. These are just sample size pre-release bottles, see the actual packaging below.

The Hydrafusion is visibly thicker, and formulated with tighter curls in mind.  Showcase ingredient:  Milk Thistle, which has been a popular homeopathic remedy for everything from lowering cholesterol, reducing damaging effects of chemotherapy, and lowering cholesterol levels.  The Milk Thistle was surely sought after by Ouidad for its high linoleic acid content - an essential fatty acid that promotes healthy and strong hair.

Define and Shine Gel Creme is suited for those with looser curl patterns and whose curls are easily weighed down  if too much product it used- s'wavy's, cherubs, silkies, - this might be for you. Showcase ingredient:  Hydrolized Silk Protein is lightweight yet superior at retaining moisture, links hair fibers to improve elasticity,  and encourages slip and glide - without weighing down curls.

The Curl Girl Says:  "I like them both.  The Hydrafusion is similar to the Deva Styling Creme, with a slight lengthining effect and a more matte finish than a gel.  The Define and Shine is also nice, and lends itself to a soft, beachy look. This is a great addition to a travel bag when you don't have the time or space for multiple products."

  1. Hello,
I was looking for reviews for the Hydrafusion creme and the Deva cream, and you tried them both! How would you compare these creams?

(I live in Europe, so if I want to try one of these brands, I need to ship them over and pay extra taxes. That is why I want to hear/read as much as I can about the products first, so I don't get too disappointed).

    Thank you!

  2. Hi Janja!

I like them both....but..... the Deva has more of a matte finish, and the Ouidad has a subtle, shiny, almost irrdescent quality to it, thanks to the mica and titanium dioxide in their formulation. Ouidad also uses water soluble cones in this formulation, (trust me, i called them and triple checked that everything in it is 100% water soluble, they're used to me doing this, lol) which give it a nice slip/glide feel. Gun to my head, I'd go with the Ouidad. If you already have a cart full of other Deva Products, their creme shouldn't disappoint. I like to add a layer of Ouidad Moisture lock before i add the creme. below is a link to the finished result of the hydra fusion on a 3c client of mine.

Yet another reason why I loathe kertatin for curly hair!

Because for MOST types of curly hair, using keratin treatments results in a very confused and damaged looking head of hair. I didn't even do her color - she's just detoxed and hydrated and cut correctly for how she wants to wear her hair.  Xoxox The Curl Gurl Florida's Curly Hair Expert Ouidad Devacurl Jessicurl  Tampa Bay Area  Facebook.com/thecurlgirl Instagram TheCurlGirl

Post keratin and it turned her hair into dry mush. If that's even a thing. I guess it is, because I see if with keratin victims all of the time.  We fixed her all up with Ouidad Cleansing Oil , Curl Qeuncher Condish Moisture Lock leave in, Climate Control Gel and Shine Glaze. coconut oil treatment & apple cider vinegar rinse for curly hair

I'm a little obsessed with coconut oil right now.  I've been using it as a "pre-conditioner" in the salon , I melt anywhere from 2 tablespoons to 1/2 cup of coconut oil (depending on how much i need to really saturate the hair from root to end, then apply it to dry hair. If you do this at home, you can do it hours before you plan to wash it - I sleep with it in my hair and wash it out with Loreal Professional Delicate Color Sulfate Free Shampoo the next morning. If you're a no-poo-er, I suggest using the Ouidad Cleansing Oil instead.  You can condition your hair as usual, or, for extra awesomeness, follow with an apple cider vinegar rinse  use up to half acv to half water, or try using 2 parts water to 1 part acv.  Let that site for at least 2 minutes, RINSE WELL.  Be SO careful not to get it in your eyes, it burns like a BITCH . It's not harsh on your hair, though - the acidity of the vinegar is actually very gentle on the cuticle helping to close it
